When you take your Maltese out of the kennel and introduce him to the outside world; he will exhibit many characteristics that can make you concerned about how he will act in public. If you take your Maltese dog for a walk or enjoy a stroll at the park with him, it’s good to know what his temperament traits are and how they might affect his interaction with other people.

Maltese dogs, like other dogs, can be dominant or submissive. Being timid is not a personality trait. Any Maltese who is timid can also be aggressive. A Maltese who is not assertive will not be assertive when he encounters other people.

Maltese may be more likely to bite if he feels threatened or cornered. He may also eat his owner. Maltese who are very territorial will typically get along well with other dogs, but they will only accept one person at a time. These dogs are usually comfortable in a group.

Stability and consistency are some of the other personality traits that you will want to look for. These dogs need to be in a place of stability and consistency to be happy. They can be destructive and insecure, so they require lots of attention.

Training Your Maltese Dog

Some Maltese are completely housetrained. In fact, it’s not uncommon for people to be buying their Maltese because they train him or her so well. Others have owners who don’t even bother to train them. But the dogs end up getting into trouble with other animals.

If you are not sure about whether a Maltese can be trained, ask yourself if you would want to be your dog’s best friend. If you’re willing to take the time to make sure your dog gets the best possible care, then you are the best person to choose.

You also have to make sure that you don’t try to train your dog without knowing what you are doing. Maltese needs to be taught by someone who has a background in training. They are a wonderful breed, but it takes a certain level of skill to be successful.

If you do try to train your Maltese without having the proper training, you could end up with a dog that is not very obedient. You could have an extremely well-trained dog, but if he is unable to be trained because he is unsure of what he is doing, then he will not be able to function properly.

Your Maltese should always be in a clean and safe environment when you are training him. Don’t let your Maltese out of your sight, and avoid letting him in places where you do not want him to be. Make sure he knows exactly where the toilet is; and is only let off the leash to use it when he’s been trained.


Along with that, you need to have the dog’s food and water prepared. You also need to know how to tie him up, so he doesn’t get away. You should never allow your Maltese to go out and play with other dogs, especially those that are larger than him.

This is especially important if he has special needs. He should be socialized with all kinds of people and animals. Any Maltese who has special needs will not be happy if you don’t take the time to make sure he is getting enough attention and love.
