Puppy Breeds: Can One Raise Two Puppies At A Time?

A person holding a dog on a leash

I have two beautiful dogs who were lovely Puppy breeds that aren’t related to each other. Lucy was here for two years before Mozart came to live with us.

She was a puppy when we got her. She always had some “splaining” to do and was a handful from day one. What another puppy in the world takes seven months to potty train? We had almost given up, and then one day, she went from one end of the house to the other and out the dog door to pee. I wanted to start singing!

How bad is the “play fighting”? Has one of the dogs ever drawn blood? There’s playing, and there’s fighting, and you can’t be there every minute to separate them or keep them safe. You sound like a responsible person who has the dog’s best interest in mind, and you don’t want one to get hurt.

Do You Hear A But Coming In Raising Two Puppy Breeds?

But, we watch this ridiculous show on Animal Planet called “Too Cute Puppies.” You watch this show when you can’t take any more bad news. The dogs are purebred puppies, raised by responsible breeders. Many times, two dogs, littler mates, are sent home with the same family, and I’ve never heard one word about the practice is dangerous.

Your puppies are so young. It’s my understanding that puppies should stay with their mothers until at least eight weeks, preferably 10. Seven weeks is too soon to have been away from mama. Of course, they fixated on one another. The Mother Ship is missing.

   What Would I Do?

· I would wait until these dogs were a little older before I made my decision. Puppies play and get into all sorts of trouble. I think they might have weaned too early, and I think they need time to settle in, I do.

One day they have lots of families, and the next day they’re as a whole. New, scary world.

· I respect everyone else’s answer, but I’ve had a lot of dogs, none of them were the same. They couldn’t put into a box with a label on it, and your dogs sound like they need one thing, a lot of love, attention, and patience. That’s more than one, but they’re all in the same category.

· Lucy has attacked Mozart once and another dog who was at the house. She is an alpha bitch, and I’ve never had an alpha dog. Both times were red-zone dog fights, with blood, and Lucy bit me the last time. She didn’t mean to, I was a stupid owner and put my hand in the way. I’ve never got a biting before and boy that hurts.

Watch Discovery. If you don’t get the Discovery Channel, you can watch clips right on your computer.

We have Goldendoodles so we bought one. We rescued one, I love the breed, but I can’t find the clip of the Goldendoodle puppies. It is the link to the Jack Russell Terriers. I bet if I brought in the guy with the smooth voice and the silly music, I might make your puppies stars.
